My wife and I have been remodeling our house and sometimes we find ourselves in a position where we have to hold our hands above our head to secure a piece of wood, drywall, or even cut things down from up above! I have to remain strong especially if something could fall and hurt my wife or myself. There are times when I am down in my back but my brain is still working, so my wife listens to my guidance and my attempt to walk her through the steps needed to remodel! When this first started, I never asked for her help but ever since I got sick with whatever in 2020, my health has declined, and now I have to ask for help from my wife or it may never get done! It took time to get to the point of being okay to ask her for her help. I do not mind asking as much as I once did, because I have learned I cannot do this alone and she is stellar with remodeling!  This reminds me of Exodus when Moses stood at top of the hill with the rod of God in his hand, while this epic battle was going on! Moses was not hanging drywall or protecting his wife, he was protecting God’s people on assignment as a leader from God. This shows us that God is with us but He will put us in positions that bring humility and strength to our lives with the help of others. Every time that Moses started to drop his hands that shift and momentum in battle changed. Moses hands in the up position means Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

12But Moses’ hands became [e]heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Aaron and Hur must have noticed the shift and the relationship to Moses hands and battle. So they stepped up and provided a way for Moses to rest and have relief of holding his hands in the air. This became a team effort to victory! I am not sure if Moses yelled, "Hey guys! Help me I am struggling" or "I need your help" but we do know that when God is on our side, no matter the circumstance we can be assured that His will be done!  Surrender yourself to God and what His calling is on your life and surround yourself with Godly people that love the Lord and are part of your support group team!

Exodus 17:9-13 Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.” 10So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12But Moses’ hands became [e]heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
