Part 2: The Believer – "Follow Me"

Part 2: The Believer – "Follow Me" (Matthew 4:19)

Key Scripture: Matthew 4:18-22

Focus: The second chair represents those who have moved from curiosity to belief. They’ve accepted Jesus as Savior but are beginning to understand what it means to follow Him more closely.

Main Points:

  • Commitment: Once someone believes in Jesus, the next step is commitment— the call to follow. This requires a shift from simply being a spectator to becoming a student of Jesus.
  • Characteristics of a Believer: Believers have faith in Jesus but are still learning the basics of what it means to live a Christ-centered life.
  • Jesus’ Call to Believers: Jesus calls believers into a deeper relationship, promising transformation and growth (e.g., "I will make you fishers of men").
  • Application: Equip the church to walk alongside new believers, teaching them the fundamentals of faith (prayer, Scripture, and community). This is a stage of spiritual infancy where nurturing and growth are crucial.

Challenge: How can you follow Jesus more closely and help others grow in their faith journey?
